Maya had a brought a psycho to Sanctuary. A psycho. My first thought was: AWESOME! Lilith, not so much. She told me to stay in the rec room while the adults “talk”. Yeah right. I knew what they were doing, they were outside arguing. Now a normal adolescent girl would have angsted and pouted in her room, but me NUH-UH I wanted to see this “Nice psycho” Maya found. So I did the normal thing and snuck outside. And there were the two Sirens, yelling at each other.
“Lilith, he saved my life twice. He’s not like most psychos!” Maya barked.
“It happens! A psycho may let one go because she has freckles, or he has nice hair. It doesn’t mean he’s any different.” Lilith snapped.
“Why you…” I tuned them out. They was boooring. I turned to my left and saw him. Damn. He was sitting on a crate but you could tell he was easily eight feet tall. He’s got pecs that have pecs! I thought with a quiet laugh. Then my eyes wandered up to his face. My body froze up. One of his mask’s eyeholes was covered by a patch. An eyepatch. Over the right eye. My eyes grew huge. Just like…my picture. I thought. And the one visible eye was a warm brown. A memory jolted its way so violently into my mind I staggered.
“Don’t worry honey, everything’s gonna be okay.” A man said. He was strapped to a table behind a glass wall. Tubes were sticking out of his arms, his one eye—a warm brown one, was panicked.
“Baby don’t look.” A woman who was griping my hand said, she was crying. She got down on a knee and gripped shoulders. “Sweetheart…remember that heavy, red rock I told you to hide in your dress? Pull the pin at the top then throw it at the wall.”
“Mommy?” I squeaked, I was crying too. She cupped my face and stared into my eyes. She had my eyes, err, I had hers.
“Just run. Tina! RuuuuuuuAGHHHHH!” The man screamed at me as he was electrocuted and injected with a purple liquid. He was in so much pain.
“Daddy!” I screamed. The woman—my mom shook my shoulders.
“GO!” She yelled. The guard who were around us now paid attention as I pulled the pin and threw the ‘rock’ at the wall.
“What the—oh SHII—” One guard stammered as it exploded. The wall blew apart and the ceiling started to cave. My mother shoved me forward as chunks of the roof fell onto her. Her eyes slid shut and she went limp. I was sobbing then as I ran blindly through the chaos and through the hole in the wall.
When my vision went back to normal Lilith was holding upright.
“Tina! Are you okay?” She asked distressed. I couldn’t speak for once. I just stared at the psycho, and he stared back. I ran forward and threw myself at his chest.
“Daddy?” I choked out. I stared up at him desperately. The massive man had his hands out awkwardly, but slowly they wrapped around my frame.
“T-…Tiny.” He mumbled. I buried my face in his chest. It was him.
“Maya…what, what have you done?” Lilith whispered. After a moment of silence, the other Siren answered.
“I think…I think I found Tina’s father.” Silence followed that statement.
